Open Up a World of Possibilities with Your Child's Library Card!
At Giant City School, our students have amazing opportunities to explore the world of books! Kindergarten–4th grade students get to visit the library twice a week during Library & MakerSpaces, while 5th–8th graders visit at least once a week. As long as their books are returned, they’re ready to check out something new! 📚✨
But that’s not all—GCS is part of the Illinois Heartland Library System (SHARE). That means students in grades 3–8 can request books from libraries all across Illinois, with access to over a million items! Every weekday, deliveries arrive right at our school, giving students the power to explore what excites them most—no limits, just curiosity and choice. Our library collection—and our access to the SHARE Library system—are made possible thanks to the generous support of the Giant City School Progress Association (GCSPA)!
